What kind of rims are these?

#1 Post by Bob Forman »

Spotted these on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252922621120?ul_noapp=true. Never seen anything like them. Anyone with a clue as to what they are?

They look like a combination of a Mercedes wheel and a drum brake 356 wheel. Looks like lots of cutting and welding went down there!

They look like cut out wheel covers or simple rim covers to me.

The auction/sale is for a set of 4 wheel "trims".
The wheels shown with the "trims" might not be included, considering the price and shipping amount listed.

I think Jon is right. A closer look reveals they are just an overlay to the 356 rim leaving the perimeter with the same patina as a unkempt steel wheel. $400?????
