The scissor jack lifts are made for working on them, not for storage like a lot of lifts.

Pelican Parts has been running sales on them.

My wife parks outside too, but so do I with the daily drivers. On rough days I take the truck, it's 4WD.

Erik, I've worked on cars with this type of lift numerous times. The lift points for the front are where the K rail attaches rearward to the chassis. The rear points are on the body under the torsion bars. One thing I found was if working on the engine, have the hydraulic lift at the front of the car and vice versa if working on the front. That way, it's out of the way. I only wish I had room for one. My garage height is too low. Like at least a few of us, the wife's car and my truck sit outside with the 356 just fitting in the garage.

The previous owner of the house we bought was a dog trainer and had a 3000 Sq Ft training building.. The log home was awesome but what sold me was a 3000 Square Foot Man town for my 356 toys!!! And the first thing I did was put in a lift!!!!

Bill; I see your car on eBay. Can't miss that red oil filter! I hope you're not selling to pay for that building.
Looks like a good project.

Hi Vic, No way... Selling to pay for my other 356... Doing some serious down sizing, I want to spend more time driving them then working on them...
Besides, what good would that shop be without a 356????

Like many on this thread I had my house garage stuffed with Porsches while my wife's daily driver was left in the elements. I finally got around to building a proper storage barn. It's 36'x64', steel roof and sides with cedar and stone front. 2 9'x10' garage doors and a man door also in front. Only problem is it's not totally finished and almost full. I guess I can go the stacker lift route if necessary. At least my wife is happy!

There is always the short term storage solution...

Nice garage Ed. Have you got room to work or is it mostly storage?

A lot of the 914 guys are fond of the Max Jax

Apparently it is semi-portable and the towers are not that tall. Again, this is good for working on the car, not for storage.

Thanks for the comments, the pole barn is just for storage. I have a separate shop for projects. That space is a bit cramped and sometimes finished pieces end up in the house.
