t5 horn button
Does anyone have a picture of how to assemble the horn button parts on a 356 t5 wheel ? The flat piece has a flat groove to it, and can't figure how to position it on the button, also the trianglar piece has a hole on one side thats a mystery. Thanks,

Gary
Hope this helps. The hole has no function or reason for being there as far as I can tell. Make sure that you align the base piece correctly, though. It needs to interface with the horn contact in the steering wheel. Put your horn button back rexactly like the one in my picture and you can't miss.
Regards
Jim

The hole in the first picture, to the right at about 4:00 is for the horn contact button.

Be sure the fiber washers are over the screws on the bottom of the spring plate (not seen in Jim's photo) as well as on top.
Of course, the cup-shaped rubber piece (horn cuff) snaps into the center hole.

Agreed. Sorry Mike I was a bit unclear about the holes. Yes, the hole in the steering wheel is for the contact. I was referring to the hole in the attaching piece in the horn button.Mike Wilson wrote:The hole in the first picture, to the right at about 4:00 is for the horn contact button.

The hole in the triangular piece with the "ears" is for the narrow neck of the rubber cuff, right?

Mike
I may be confused but I think the OP was referring to the hole at 7:00 in the center piece of the button. Yes, the hole in the middle is for the horn cuff.

Jim

Hey, Jim: good question. I'll have to check my steering wheel.

Re: t5 horn button
I checked my steering wheel. The hole in question doesn't seem to serve any purpose on my wheel, a wood-rim VDM with horn button and ring.
