Horn problems

#1 Post by David Pettengell »

So, my horn has never worked on my 1960 356b. Was playing about with signal switches yesterday so had the steering wheel off and noticed when I ground the brown wire it works which tells me there is something wrong with the horn buttoin mechanism.

The steering wheel has a "pin" that goes through it and contacts the copper ring but the backside of this pin just has a frayed piece of wire attached to nothing.

How should this work?

If the rubber cuff isn't supple, it negatively affects rebound. Also, the contact that John posted a link to needs to make contact with the contact ring. I make sure the contact ring is bright and shiny so good contact is made.
