Correspondingly, in testing my dipstick thermometer in boiling water at my close to sea level location, it indicates 200 deg instead of 212 deg. Is this possibly due to lack of proper water temp contact because of its insular bubbling?
If boiling water bubbles are an insulator for a true 212 degree reading, what would be the approximate degree difference?
