True, but it is also very resistant to heat, abrasion and modern fuels. I'm sure the stuff from Stoddard is good, but I have used that type of hose in the past on other cars and found it to be not quite as durable (got hard, cracked at bends), however it may not have been the same brand. The Gates synthetic FI hose I am referring to is very durable stuff.

Our local metric supplier, Bel-Metric, (they sent those hard-to-find bolts you were looking for last year, Eric) also carries the German 7.5mm COHLINE Cloth Braided Fuel (Gas and Diesel Line) hose. They note it is rated up to E50 (50% ethanol mixture) with a working pressure of 101 psi.

Wow, good specs. Working psi of 101 with E50? OK, I feel better. I guess the other woven stuff I have used in the past was different, not sure how many still manufacture the externally reinforced woven hose, but apparently they are not all created equal.

Thanks for the tip on Belmetric, I have always had trouble finding a source for the very stuff they sell.

Most all QUALITY fuel hose was reformulated with the advent of alcohol being added to gas. Cohline is OEM on most German cars sold today. Quality product and the 2122 sold by Bel-Metric and Stoddards is specified for our old carburated applications. Sleep without worry Mark.

The data sheet I posted 3 days ago was sent to me 4 days ago directly from Cohline Germany.
For the 7,50 mm hose, the "working" pressure of 7 Bar equals 101.5 PSI; "testing" pressure of 20 Bar equals 290.1 PSI. Should be good enough in a 356 fuel system of about 3 PSI.

Data sheet is also on Cohline's website if anyone wants to look for themselves. http://www.cohline-uk.net/AFHC_2013_Teil_2.pdf They make lots of different hoses for different applications so make sure you are looking at 2122 Thanks Brad.
