Even a scammer would know better than to price a '57 Speedster at $35k. Scammers are looking to price things at the low end of believable, which doesn't describe this price at all.

However, a lot of '57 Speedster replicas are out there, selling in that price range. And nearly every ad for such a replica, lists the year as 1957 and the make as Porsche...

Either the word "replica" was omitted, or a zero was omitted. Or we have the world's dumbest scam artist.

Bruce They have been very active recently doing computer theft from the world financial system. http://money.cnn.com/2016/05/27/technol ... oplead-dom I was being facetious about them pulling Porsche scams. My warped sense of humor.

There's also an ad [WTB] Wanted! Looking for Porsche SPLIT Cabriolet 50-52 Price: 100000. That strikes me as about as realistic as a $ 35k Speedster.

There's another Wanted to Buy ad looking for a 356A T2 Cabriolet project in poor to fair condition with pictures of my car. Should I feek insulted?

I always tell those guys to not use pics of stuff I've found, sometimes they listen. Once the guy even said he had found the car, so I went out and took a picture next to the car and my truck, he just starting calling me names then.

The best way to find deals on Porsches... is to simply drive your old Porsche. The deals will walk up to you and start talking. I have found many old parts and cars from people just walking up to me and striking up a conversation about the old car I'm driving.. at a gas station... the grocery store etc. The Mailman also led me to several stashes... They are like the CIA. They know everything.

And, it's now in the 356 Registry Classifieds Porsche 356 t-2 cabriolet - $ytm. My car's getting famous.

I think those photos came from the Phoenix Club. Those aren't my photos so legally and morally it's a fair use to show my car as an example of a T2 Cabriolet. I just hope mine's actually better than "#4" condition.

I have been seeing my cars posted all over CL and other worldwide sites for 1/2 the price. There is some scammer out of Of Columbia SC that posts Checkered flag sold cars in different states at 50% under retail when i called him to find out where he was in Gulfport , he said the car was in Columbia , I said great im here Ill be there in 10 minutes, he blocked my number I reported him to Craigslist security & then to Ebay, ebay removed it immediately & his user ID dissapeared, CL still has the adds up

BUT then again a friend just bought a 39k original paint mile 930 for under 40k so its always worth the call

I wonder if the seller would be so happy if he knew he made a gift of $60K or more to a stranger.

That's what happens in a market with rapidly changing values and sellers working with imperfect information.
