I coated the seat belt anchors with Plastic Dip. I had to play with the white/black coloring to try to get the proper gray color.

Mike,

Would you believe I ordered the plasti dip yesterday before I started the thread.
I also got the clear dip primer which apparently gives the material a better 90% adhesion rate.

Did it stay on, or come off in places with the movement of the belt clip.

I haven't installed the seat belt anchors yet as the car is still in restoration. If you go to color the anchors, use the black VERY sparingly. It doesn't take much. I used the clear, whilte and black. When it was too dark, I didn't let it go to waste. I coated various tool handles with it for better grip.

Thanks Mike,

I will take your advise when I get to this.
I will post a picture of the finished article, hopefully I can get a shade close to the original colour.

I have some bits of the old plastic covering if you'd like a sample.

David Jones wrote:I question the need for an additional nut and washer on the backside of the seat belt anchor. They usual cannot unscrew because of the difficulty of turning the eye bolt once the belt is clipped in place. Seems to be a case of "belt and braces" to me.

I had 131043 and it was delivered with a 12 V electrical system and factory optioned seat belts. It had the lockwasher and nut described in the manual as original issue. This may have been a European requirement or a TUV edict.

Mike,

Thank,you for the offer.
I believe that the colour of the bolts are extremely similar to the colour of the gas tank.
Is this correct.

Here is a picture of my tank showing the colour.

The color is very close; a light gray. My offer still stands if you would like a sample,

Thanks Mike, I'll see how I get on.

On a slightly separate note, could someone tell me what the diameter of the seatbelt bolt is on a C.

I'm not with my car at the moment and I was planning to get a few SS washers ordered.
