Transmission problem?

#1 Post by Helge Tielker »

Guys,

we have problems with the 1st or 3rd gear. Whatever we tried out to adjust, either 1 or 3 goes wrong :(.
We got the feeling when making a longer trip that as soon as the engine and transmissiontemperatur rises, it more and more difficult is to shift gears.
Does anyone knows anything about someting like that and what a possible reason can be?

Make sure that the Plastic Cup http://www.stoddard.com/69542413300.html end of your shifter sits in is good. And make sure that when in neutral your shift rod is vertical. While you are in there make sure your guide ring is intact http://www.stoddard.com/69542421100.html On the back you do not have the coupler that has replaceable bushings like T6 cars. But if the pictured part is bad let me know. I have a few spares. Or upgrade the rear coupler to T6 style.

Helge,

If the car was shifting fine until recently, then something in the linkage may have come loose, or a bushing might be falling apart.
If you've just had work done to the transmission or shift linkage and it has not worked properly since, then please tell us what was done.

Just to hopefully rule out the clutch, even when the temperature is up, can you always shift into reverse with no difficulty? Only 1st and 3rd give trouble?
