There was another post over on Ferrari Chat today:

I've joined this forum just to be able to make a connection on this thread. I am a colleague of Amanda's at Fullerton College and have been following this thread to see how Jon is doing. I can confirm that Amanda did not survive her injuries.

That is horrible news, so very, very sad.

Petrolicious does such nice videos and that certainly is a great one with him and his car.
Best wishes and here's to a speedy recovery for Jon...Truly a shame his friend didn't survive...Makes you think a lot about how short life truly is...

Conrad: it depends upon the model of the 356. T-6's have attachment points on the rear side panels. If you Google the topic, there are diagrams including the factory-recommended positions for the A models.

Are there any updates on Jon's condition? I love the video on YouTube. I have probably watched it ten times this winter, while my 58 speedster has been parked. Just watching and hearing the sound of the motor puts a smile on my face. This is about as sad as it gets.
The left lane is for passing, MOVE OVER!!!!

Jim, thank you for posting that link and for the heartfelt note over at GoFundMe. We're now at more than $26k for Jon and $20k for Amanda's children- and please note that I use the term "we" to mean enthusiasts; several FerrariChat members orchestrated this act of kindness and are truly exceptional people.

Jon may not have had the exposure here that he had on FerrariChat, but he had 200 posts and was as inquisitive and helpful as he is in the real world.

I had to take a step back from reading updates or anything of the sort this weekend. It's just so senseless and so darn preventable. The driver responsible is in jail with bail set at $3 million.

An update to Jon's condition was made last night: he should be out of the ICU in a week or so and is making progress. I regard this as incredibly good news.

911 Media Group provided video coverage of the accident and interviewed the SDPD and SDFD for the local SD news stations. I won't post the video link as its very graphic but captured these photos showing where the two vehicles made contact. I know the route well and given the speeds traveled (45-55 mph) not sure any safety measures could have been taken to minimize injuries ... surely a wake up call.

What a very nice video and obviously great guy. The story is tragic, and I can't help but think there goes any one of us driving these old claptraps. We all cherish the idea of control, but a fair amount of the time it is an illusion.
