356 Brake Pads too thick

Porsche 356 c brake pads ,new . too thick they drag . what to do?

It depends on the brand. Some companies like Hawk make them in different thicknesses because some cars with the same shape pad have more room in the caliper.

Won't help today, but I'd call the supplier and ask. If it is one of the 'trusted' suppliers, they'll probably make good on any problems.

How thick are they? I have some new pads on hand and a rotor I can check them against. Are you sure the caliper pistons are all the way in? Did you drive it after installation? If not be aware that if you do not have the original retractors in place you will have to drive it for the pads to get "knocked back" in to place by the disc run out as it rotates. Just rotating the disc by hand after installation will not do it.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Make sure that you have at least 1 mm free play between brake rod and master cylinder.
