356 Registry Bylaws changes

#1 Post by Gordon Maltby »

Members,

In the last issue a proposal for significant changes to the bylaws was published. President George Dunn gave an overview in his column on page 12. On pages 70 and 71 the proposed changes are detailed.

Please read George's column to get a sense of what the trustees are proposing. We hope that all members will take the time to also read the details and if they feel strongly opposed or have questions, contact any of the trustees. (Note: we did not print the text in small type to discourage reading, it just had to be that small to fit!) You can also read the bylaws in their current form on this website under "About Us".

Note under Article XII, Amendment of Bylaws: according to the amendment procedure, a statement of reasons against the adoption of changes can be submitted by any member "before the deadline for the second succeeding issue" (March April, 2016). That deadline would be February 1st, 2016 (our normal editorial and advertising deadline).

If you have an objection to the adoption of these changes, please send the secretary a letter or email. All reasons against adoption of these changes will be published along with a ballot to vote for or against.
