It was outstanding, Dick, and I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all, a lot of laughs as well. The most unusual accessory I saw was the vinyl cover for the top of the twin grill roadster--a top for the top. Pretty unusual.Dick Douglass wrote:This topic is almost 2 years old.
Yesterday at the 356 Club Concours in Huntington Beach we showed a Black/ Black with Green interior 1965 SC Cab in Full Concours with the Fresh Air Blower factory installed. I hope you had a chance to see the accessory. Many 356 Club of Southern California members stopped by and commented that they had not seen one before.
The reason to attend a local 356 Event is you might see something factory installed from the past.

Jim, it was so much fun. Yes that car won 1st place Full Concours. Congrats to all the winners and the volunteers who got up a 5 am to be there at 6 am to greet us and place the cars on the lawn.
Wayne was not correct in thinking HB was LA and therefore to far to drive from San Diego. If you are a member of the 356 Club and receive the magazine you really should watch your club in action.
They are a great Team, and ran a perfect event.

Re: Fresh Air Blower
Hi Eric,
The car was prepared and ready to be Judged in Full Concours at the 356 Club Concours, July 22,2017 in Huntington Beach.
Before judging began while the front hood was open many people stopped to see a Fresh Air Blower and photos were taken. Remember we needed to keep the car Full Concours ready for the judges so no one took a series of pictures.
In our row was Jim Nelson/Larry Markham beautiful blue open car that we all watched picture of on this forum, being assembled at Larry's Shop . Very nice people His car was a winner in Full Concours!, Then our SC Cab has a gorgeous green interior and many people noticed the Fresh Air Blower and then moved to see the interior and maybe the dash and then the absolute amazing Carrera Speedster with Rudge wheels, from European Collectibles next to our car.
As you can see people walking by got plenty to see and and it was like they couldn't wait to see the next car.
pm sent to Eric

Re: Fresh Air Blower
I have posted a new discussion on this subject. Specifically with the goal of obtaining some pictures of a factory installation and details on the numbers on the relay.

Re: Fresh Air Blower
There is a diagram of the blower in section in the B supplement parts manual. The bracket that the relay attaches to is interesting. It appears it is located on the back and outside of the battery box. The part number for the relay is: 644.615.101.01. The part number for the horn relay is: 644.615.101.00 and light relay is: 644.615.103.00. Not sure which one could be used if the original blower relay is NLA.
Not sure about the lettering as I haven't seen an original blower relay.

Re: Fresh Air Blower
The question I am trying to answer is what the correct relay is for the fresh air blower. Review of the B, T-6 B Supplement and the C supplement parts manuals reveals that the Porsche part number was 644.615.101.01. This was also the part number listed for the BN4 heater relay. There has been some speculation that perhaps the blower relay is the same as the horn relay. It is odd that Porsche chose to have a different part number for the blower relay if it was the same as the horn relay. Or if the relay was changed in some small way, warranting a new part number, why was the part number not changed in the parts manual supplements for the horn relay? I am seeking to determine what the number marked on the relay case actually is. Later, the PET lists part number PCG.615.101.00 for the Blower, horn and Fog light relays. Apparently, they introduced a universal replacement part.
So, the question remains. What would be helpful would be to find someone who has a car with a factory installed blower.
Regards,
Eric L.

Re: Fresh Air Blower
See below for blower wire diagram page STRA 47 You will see the relay is a Normally Open type -- same as a horn relay -- the contacts are "open" across terminals 87 and 30.

Re: Fresh Air Blower
Yes, Functionally equivalent. Why the different part number? Higher current rating on the contacts?
