Is the early 356 fuel pump the same as the 36HP VW? I have a 36HP fuel pump that I have no use for. I thought it could be possibly used for an early 356 as a spare, etc. I could not find any part numbers but I didn't scrub it while looking.
thanx

Re: Early fuel pump
Doug,
The base and and fuel line ports are the same and you can make a 36HP VW type pump work. It's capacity is too low for two carbs but it could be a good enough spare to get you home. An A/B kit would work to rebuild it. You'll need to work out rerouting the AUS (out) fuel line. Just don't go up any hills.

Re: Early fuel pump
Bruce- appreciate the reply, Since it's not useful for a 356 community, I'll offer it for free to the VW tribe. I hate throwing out any old working part.
