Deka 6v Lead-Acid Batteries
I need a 6v lead-acid battery for my D because that is the only battery that will fit in the car's battery box. The Optima is too big. I have had Interstate batteries in the past for my B. I now have an Optima in that car. I have been told that the Interstate batteries are now made in Mexico and have some quality issues. A former Interstate dealer recommends Deka's 6v battery which is made in the US by East Penn. Any opinions about the Deka battery?

Peter, I would be tempted to go for one of these. Good warranty and price is right.

If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Thanks David. The Napa battery is also made by East Penn. I suspect that they are probably identical.

Interstate does not have any battery manufacturing facilities. I believe Johnson Controls is the OEM for batteries marketed under the Interstate name.
East Penn (Deka) and Exide-Yuasa are the only other major battery manufacturers with plants in the U.S.
