56 A sunroofs

How many coupes were produced in model year 1956, of those, does anyone know how many had the sunroof option? Thanks JM

i guess you could say there were 4 types of 56 sunroofs..
1 The early v sunroof sent from the factory to golde to be installed on a car.
2 The early v sent to golde after the fact to be installed.
3 The later round front sunroof sent to golde for install
4 The later round installed after the fact by golde

any one know off hand when the first round one appeared??? what vin#?

Reutter made ~3300 coupes in 1956 model year counting chassis numbers assigned.

The first 123 sunroof coupes had the wedge-shaped sunroofs which were leftover from bent-window 356 production in 1954 and 1955. This comes from Frank Jung's excellent "Porsche 356 by Reutter" book on page 127. On page 141 he states that ~15% of 1956 coupes had Golde sunroofs, so ~325 in '56 model year.

On the contrary Brett Johnson states on page 29 of his 356 book that the last V-shape sunroof car is 1957 model with VIN 58355.

I have asked for more T1 sunroof VIN´s in authenticity corner and have contacted Frank Jung for more information. Let´s see

My 56 sunroof 356A was serial # 56724 and had the V-shaped sunroof.
