Interesting. My Cabriolet is very close to 150256 and it has Speedster gears.

Interesting. I have 150551. How can you tell if the car has speedster gears? My car is a Super, #s matching

Jay; the ratios are stamped on the bottom of the trans on the forward rib of the housing.

I-
There are guys who sell the last few years of sales on ebay in the form of a disc, normally on ebay ironically, you might be able to acquire one of these discs and get the info on the sale of this car from 2012.

What you actually see on the bottom spine of the transaxle are four letters. The little spec book has the actual ratios.

Normal is BBBC
Speedster is BBAB
Carrera is BBAA
356SC is BBBD

Here are the actual ratios which I took from the little spec book a while ago:

Normal
B 1st gear is 11:34 or 3.09 to 1
B 2nd gear is 17:30 or 1.76 to 1
B 3rd gear is 23:26 or 1.13 to 1
C 4th gear is 27:22 or 0.81 to 1

Speedster
B 1st gear is 11:34 or 3.09 to 1
B 2nd gear is 17:30 or 1.76 to 1
A 3rd gear is 22:27 or 1.23 to 1
B 4th gear is 26:23 or 0.88 to 1

Carrera
B 1st gear is 11:34 or 3.09 to 1
B 2nd gear is 17:30 or 1.76 to 1
A 3rd gear is 22:27 or 1.23 to 1
A 4th gear is 25:24 or 0.96 to 1

356SC
B 1st gear is 11:34 or 3.09 to 1
B 2nd gear is 17:30 or 1.76 to 1
B 3rd gear is 23:26 or 1.13 to 1
D 4th gear is 27:23 or 0.85 to 1

At 3,500 rpm a C fourth gear gives about 74 mph while a B {Speedster) fourth gear gives about 68 mph. An A fourth gear (Carrera) gives only 63 mph and a D fourth gear (356SC) gives about 71 mph.

Of course, nobody would cruise at 3,500 rpm in a Carrera.
