T6 fuel filler cable

Trying to help a friend find correct cable for his C coupe gas filler door. Current part listed is 911 part # 901-504-317-21 and it is a bare cable and will need part # 999-230-002-02 added to it after helpful parts man I have used for years searched for me when I explained that cable end was bare. Brad can you clarify for those of us with newer 356s ? There is no mention of needing #999-230-002-02 on website or in latest Stoddard catalog. Sierra Madre has the same part # for the cable and no mention of 999.230.002.02 being needed. Seems like the original part listed in my parts book 644-504-037-001 is history.
