Richard, the 6 to 12 volt converters I used are shown as not available on Amazon but that has happened before. They are similar to these by the same manufacturer. There are similar ones for sale but these were half the price of the others with the same rating.
https://www.amazon.com/Converter-DROK-V ... KZZG7Z9ZA7
Difference was in the output they are 12 volt/10 amp. I used two so as to be safe, one for high beams and one for low beams.

If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

That will work as that is what i have in my 356. If your headlights have the small cup reflectors you might have to bend or remove them. My headlights dont have the small cup reflector.

The picture you see is with the led globes fitted. H4 led as per the black globes pictured in previous post.

Just to make it clear these are 6 volt only globes. Not 12 volt.

Peter, how’s the beam on those? Good cutoff lines, etc?

All i can say is that they are much brighter than what i had and make driving at night safer.
Maybe Merv can comment on the cut off lines as he is using the same globes.

Re: Head lamp conversion H4 headlamp with LED 6 volt bulb
I just pinged Pete at CDRC (http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com/) to get an update on their 6V H4 LED redesign. I asked when they might be available and he responded:
At this moment it’s difficult to say.
I have a design on paper but we want to build bulbs that don’t have an external driver.
With 6v this presents a problem that we are trying to address.
At the moment we can’t get samples made up due to coronavirus.
Just in case others might be interested.....
