OLD TOPIC -SUPERSEDED Articles Index - Troubleshooting and Repair

#1 Post by Stephen Masefield »

With the new web design we lost the helpful page that listed all the articles in the "TroubleShooting and Repair" section under Resources. For me as newbie, a real loss. Now you have to hunt through 16 pages to see if something is there that might help you. I queried this 'loss' and was politely told to.....

So rather than complain anymore, here is the list again. I cut and pasted every title, page by page. The list is in order as shown on the Resources page. (About 5/6 titles per page, you can see roughly where they are on the web pages )

The URL behind the title is lost when I pasted here, so you can only scan this list and know what key word/wording to search for. If you want a Word document containing the list with the URL information just ask - you could sort and filter as you want.

Thanks, again, Stephen, this has been one of my hardest issues with which to do referrals to this new board, when trying to help others to the subject matter in the articles, GREAT WORK!

I just wasted my lunch hour, searching for that old tech article on installation, and adjustment of the solid shaft Solex PII-4, for a friend, and did not find it. The loss of a user friendly tech article search mode, is my biggest criticism of the new format... makes it hard to help the new folks,

I used the "Tuning Solex 40PII-4 Carburetors " article title, sad... it was so easy, and intuitive before.

Many thanks Stephen, sterling work. For me, the main feature/benifit of the Registry is the archived self help information, shame we took one step back in that department when the new site was introduced.

OK, OK, the new Website is great, many thanks go to those who largely go unthanked, I for one appreciate the scale of the effort..... it's just... the old index page was very useful.

I agree with Tim, stickyfication would be helpful.

+1!

I posted my comment, in the spirit of helping others, as I was helped early on... Thanks!

Pardon the ignorance. I see all the titles, but how do I link to them?

You need the Word file with hyper links "behind" the titles..send me an email and I will forward.
I had hoped the Registry Web folks would post this directory somewhere but seems not - happy to continue to send out to any and all who ask. brit@infowest.com
