The thing I like the most is being able to properly align the car. For my first 40 years of ownership it could not be done properly. My next most favorite modification was welding eyelets with reinforcing metal below the quarter windows. A 12 volt conversion with an alternator. Discovering Michelin tires in 1962. On my normal engine balancing and the standard flywheel smooth take off and fabuulious gas mileage. I never had trouble with drum brakes! al zim

After those mods I previous noted on page 2, I recently added a second Optima 6v battery when I found it would fit in front of original along with the spare tire. Eliminates any concern for cranking power. Over use of the H4 lamps and other loads motivated an upgrade to a 200 watt Gen and the second Optima. Still looks stock.

John,
Not disagreeing with what you found great, but simply to point out that one man's poison...
One of the best mods I ever did was fitting a Speedster seat to one of my C's years ago, and I have a half-done project up on the shelf to do it again.

Could you explain the eyelets, and what were they for?

Pertronix ignition: faster starts, better idle, smoother running, and cheap.

But Frank, you left a couple; reliability and economy. I’m a points and condenser man and my experience says that’s the better plan provided good quality components are used. Also, repairability is high (even at the side of the road at night, if need be).

When I had Rod Emory drop a polo motor, annular disc brakes, 901 gearbox, and a 901 rear suspension in my Speedster..,.. if you are going to do one mod then might as well REALLY do it... I'm either full original or Emory outlaw, with nothing in between! Lol.

12 volt system with Optima battery. The first one a time change out at nine years, real LED headlights and the precision 123 distributor that only needs a new cap and rotor every 33,000 km.
