Nobody is going to say full flow filter? I was considering that as the next change to my car.

I would also add the third brake light and dual circuit master cylinder.

1. Addition of an outboard motor priming bulb ahead of the fuel pump to fill the carbs before trying to start the motor after the car sits for a week or 2.

2. Conversion (by Turnswitch) of original 6V Blaupunkt radio to modern electronics inside (includes internal 6V to 12V convertor), so there is enough power to drive modern 5.25 inch speakers to a level audible at 75-80mph with the windows open.

3. Replacement of front turn signal incandescent bulbs with high power LEDs from Jeffrey Fellman (Classico Wheels). I already had CuLayer lights in the rear teardrops.

4. Leather “Wheelskins” on the original C steering wheel.

5. Addition of 3-point retractable seatbelts from PEP on C coupe and from Andover Restraints on the other one.

6. Addition of 2 Porsche 911 rear red fog lights to the luggage rack on my 65C coupe, which function as signal and brake lights that can actually be seen (in tandem with the teardrop lights).

7. Ignition wire set from Zim’s with the long spark plug connectors; not stock but easy to remove.

8. Addition of the 123 ignition (replacement distributor), which has a rotor but is “pointless.”

jim nelson wrote:+1 on the H4/LED combination. I'd add Jules' instrument LED's to the list, as well.
+2 on LED dash and tail lights

Jules' instrument LED's was the change with the most impact. Before installing the LED's I could not even read the speedometer and I could barely read the tachometer.

Also CU Layer LED Tail Lights gave me a little increase in confidence. Our 356 came with Cibie Headlamps and the relay but my Head Lights are still extremely dim. After the repair of the driver side carb cleaning the head light contacts will be the next order of business.

Errrm, bought a 912, aka 356D!

Then I went with alloy wheels, bigger tires, sway bars, bigger torsion bars, 911 front brakes, electric fuel pump, Pertonix ignition, factory sport seats, Nardi steering wheel, starter motor relay, better headlights, 1720 kit, and Tricom cam.

Have modified speedster with Wilhoit's 17.5MM front anti-roll bar and Vic's camber regulator along with light alloy wheels from Wilhoit. These modifications made a marked difference in handling at autocross. Unfortunately with 55 body could only fit 5" wide wheels so still have minimal contact rubber.

As far as improving the drive-ability of the car on the road, lowering the seats by removing the wood spacers and bolting the seat rails directly to the floor. This lowered the seating position just enough that you were not forced to look through the top of the windshield frame and as an added bonus your left hand was freed up since it was no longer necessary to hold your cap on while driving.

I tried the squeeze bulb in my A model and couldn't get fuel to flow through the fuel pump. Which type is your car?

I have 2 C coupes, both with the primer bulb.

I did not know that the type of pump was an issue.
If that's true, why does the electric pump mounted ahead of the mechanical one work? Higher pressure?

+1 with all that has already been mentioned, but for enjoyable - adding louvers to a single flapper box was a more fun choice than adding a double flapper box, and efficient too.

Willhoit got it right but CO isn't CA so I installed a gas heater under the spare tire.
I used various parts from several SW heaters, and push the hot air through the Fresh air vents.

Bought an original Glaspar HT from Victor Miles for my speedster. It extends the drive season here at 2000m elevation. Also an LED clip on light that lives in the speedster for a night cockpit light. I put a couple of fluffed out down sleeping bags in the rear seat area. Those increase the dead air space by a lot so the stock heater actually works with the HT on. Hi Norm!
