All I can tell you that on my three cars, I had very, very little noticeable dimming. By installing an incadenscent bulb upstream, I suppose I was able to get the upstream dimming voltage via the bulb down to the "happy range" that the LEDs dowstream expect to see for dimming to be within equired operating range. It worked like a charm and my gauges noticeably dim down and up very nicely almost the full range of the switch dimmers.

On one car, I experimented and added an extra incandescent bulb in series and upstream of the rest and stashed the bulb out of sight in a blackened container and that worked even better. All I can say, I did this on an "engineering based gut feeling" and it worked! I want to clarify that I did only purchased the natural white/clear LEDs from Jules via Sven and the red, green, and blue color ones I had handy from another project and from another source. I also did opt to use the incandescent only for the generator/alternator indicators. I also played around off the car using some small wire jumpers and a spare light switch and was able to duplicate the dimming on my work table; the results were the same.

Maybe (if he chimes in) Jules's complete kit has a "special" LED that mimics the incandescent bulbs; I do not know since I only bought enough of the clear ones and not the kits. By the way, I tried to dim LEDs from another supplier and they just did not dim at all and were only either "off" or "on" with the light switch dimmer function.

Good luck!

I've spent the last two days up under the dash of my car and have come to the realization that a bulb kit might solve a lot of issues. I'm interested in one of Jules's led kits so if you're checking in please contact me.

Thanks - Jack walter

Got the bulbs from Jules and am very pleased with them - the generator light is nice and bright and you can easily see the turn signal and high beam lights.
The instrument lighting is very nice in my garage - I'm waiting to see how it looks after the sun goes down and the garage is dark but I'm sure it will be great.

Thanks Jules - nice product!

Wow, I just put this product in my 356 and what a wonderful difference! Thank you Jules!!! In addition, shipping was fast and Jules graciously and quickly answered a couple placement questions. Very worth the money IMHO as it feels like a new car.

Just installed these on my 6volt T6-B w/mechanical tach. Very happy with the results - actually using (1) incandescent in the turn signal indicator as it is too bring at night (as others have subjectively noted)!

Jules and I did some old fashioned swapping. He wanted one of the generator/fan belts I make, and I wanted his lights. We are both smiling now!

MOST IMPORTANT: LED LIGHTS ONLY LET CURRENT FLOW IN ONE DIRECTION. IF YOU ARE USING THESE LIGHTS AS THE RED GENERATOR LIGHT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHEN THE GENERATOR STOPS WORKING. CHANGE BACK TO AN ICANNDESCENT BULB FOR THE GREEN LIGHT.

Buy his lights! They work. Even the generator light, which is RED, Al.

Keep trying for Jules. His lights work correctly and he's a good guy to deal with. Maybe send him an email through his contact button.
