Excellent outcome!
Unfortunately this is a sad reality all 356 owner's need to live with!
Anyone out there have suggestions on how to counter thieves?
Is Lojack still out there? How about a secret kill switch..........

Kill switches are ineffective against a tow truck unfortunately.

Re: Stolen - Million Mile 356 featured in August magazine
The Million Mike Porsche had a great party the other night with several Porsches in attendance including several 356's. The car literally turned over to the million mile mark as it entered the parking lot. Guy was absolutely beaming! A well-attended event and well-planned by Jill.
There were some questions previously asked but not answered.
When stolen, notice was immediately posted on Facebook, fliers were posted in the area especially around the port if someone attempted to get the car out of the country and local authorities were notified including a friend of mine, a chief, that is also a Porsche guy. A couple who live across the street from where the car was abandoned were on Facebook, saw the notice and, looking across the street, saw the car and identified it. Guy was notified as well as the local police.
Ed Rutherford of Klasse 356 and I have worked on Blue and Guy notified us that it had been found. We went to the location and saw that all the wires under the dash had been cut including the antenna cable. Either the thieves were really stupid and didn't know how to hot wire it or were trying to either disable it and come back later or just wanted to be malicious. Ed and I made temporary repairs so we could get it to the shop for proper repairs.
Since recovery, Guy has installed a sophisticated alarm system.
Also, although the initial prints taken from the car didn't match anyone in the database, at least one of the "alleged suspects" "allegedly" committed yet another crime and, after finger-printing, matched the ones on the car. The case, I believe, is still pending.
Long live Blue...Long live our 356's....

It was watching Guy's video on Petrolicious that helped persuade me to buy mine. He's seems a lovely bloke, so it really hurt when I read some vile retard had stolen his car.
I'm glad all's well and he's done his million. Quite something.

Regarding the theft, because the "alleged" suspect was a minor at the time, information isn't available. However, after reaching adulthood, he "allegedly" committed another crime, was caught and his fingerprints matched those on the car tying him to that theft.
If I find out anything more, I'll report back.
