novice over-rider question

#1 Post by Erik Cox »

Were over-rider bars an option when buying cars or was in a euro vs. import addition?

Also, can regular bumpers be retro-fitted with over-rider bars or does one need to find complete bumpers with over-rider bars already integrated?

Overriders were standard in 1959 around the world and were the high bar variety. Despite this they are still listed in the optional equiptment section of the cardex for my car. Prior to 1959, overriders were optional and of the low bar variety and I think that they were available from 1956 but maybe someone else can clarify this.

Michael.

Eric

They are listed on most Kardexes as "US bumpers" what ever that means. Overriders can be fitted to any A bumper.

For what it's worth.

My `59 Cabriolet was built in December of `58. It has the low bar
variety.
