In the old days we would call these brakes "Funny Brakes" and we would call the rims for the 60 drums "bus offset" the anulars use regular offset wheels.

Sorry for the confusion when I say wide five I was refering to the pcd , at the moment I, m running 130 pcd with space savers(356 C disc brakes) ,wide being bigger than 130 pcd .
So my wheels are stardard offset .
Just going the long way round to get the wheels back on !
By the way the car the annular brakes came off is long dead , I have few bits of chassis , long ago cut up,it was one of 6 light weight GT,s made , also right and drive .

I had a '63 Carrera 2 Coupe(missing the 4-cam)...
I think that was the first year that they had annular brakes. Mine had them in original condition, as far as I can tell.
They are a natural color....bead-blast 'em and cover them with nothing or a very high temperature coating.
These are prone to cracking between the spyder arms and the base plate. It happened on 2 of my 4 wheels. 20 years ago, it was impossible to bend/weld these back right. I ended up replacing the disks, rear axle, front brake housing and replace them with drum brakes...shoulda' gone disks. I still have an annular drum hanging on the wall, though!
I sold the Carrera 2 in '89 for $15K without any engine in it and rusty floor....sure was pretty though!

Just to let owners of annular brakes know ,handbrake cables are now in stock with Porsche ,I purchased mine after talking to Porsche classic at Goodwood revival this year .
They look pretty good , it's a part I,be been after for years.
I rocked up at my local Porsche garage , quoted the part number , 2 weeks later picked them up , had a coffee and looked at some lovely shiny cars.
Hopefully they may make a few more bits for these brakes in the future ?

C-II E-brake cables in stock at http://www.stoddard.com/69535275190.html

But that's about it when it comes to Carrera 2-ltr parts thru the Porsche system.

I think Corey Johnson makes these backing plates.
