356 Registry CD

#1 Post by Glen Getchell »

I'm trying to use my 356 Registry CD (May 97 - March 07) for the first time, and I can not get it to work properly. I have read all the instructions, but still don't understand why I can't use it as advertised. When I click on index I get a page that has pictures of every cover; however, as that page comes up I get a error saying "(d:\project30\vol2130c\volumes 21 thru 30. PDX)" I can click on a issue and scroll through it, but I have no ability to search and my page does not look like the example in the "How to use CD" section. I'd appreciate help from those who know how to use this disk Thanks!

Glen,
I'm thinking you may have a problem with your CD or with Adobe Illustrator.

Here's is what I see when I do a search.

& when I searched a more common topic of tires this is what I saw...

Perhaps you can download a newer version of Adobe...

Acrobat Reader not Illustrator, and Adobe is a company

#3 Post by Chris Markham »

I'm obliged to point out that it is Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader (free) which will read the files on the 356 Registry CD/DVDs.

Adobe Illustrator is that, an Illustration tool, which one might use to put images into a PDF (i.e., Acrobat) file.

And also that Adobe is a company, which makes many fine products, none if which is called Adobe.

Chris,
You are correct. I meant to say Adobe Acrobat.
