the subject car of this post ...not quite yet found.

sold twice, to two people at the same time, and might now be in Germany.

all without knowledge of the owner that consigned the car....who has not received any payment.

I wonder if the owner gave the title to the seller? Can't export a car without a title.

Interesting and sad story; however, let's review some facts...we know who the culprit is and where he is located, no? It should be a 'no-brainer' to visit him with a couple of big friends and 'persuede' him to do the right thing...just a thought.

Seriously, what say the seller?

All kidding aside, back in the way in my more reckless youth we had a situation come up with a Maaco paint shop. My brother had a BMW with a pretty crazy stereo setup. Apparently the guy's at Maaco like to take the systems out of cars and put them in their cars for the week or two the car was there, then they would put everything back in. Except everything was custom on my brother's car with recessed amps and such so when we got the car back nothing fit right, and had white paint dust fingerprints on everything, then we realized they had blown the subwoofers. The manager looked at us like we were crazy, got out a rag and started wiping off the paint dust prints, look, good as new, that's the best he could do. The three of us escorted him into his office, closed the door and emerged with a check that was more than the paint job cost. So Geoff is right, there is power in numbers.

One weekend in the 70's my girl friend and I were having a picnic using her car to drive to the park as my VW convertible was in the shop getting a new top. While we were having our sandwiches and chablis my car drove up with the new top down and four people in it. After they got out and went down to the Arkansas river we gathered our stuff and I drove it home. (Spare key in wallet.) I never called nor did I ever get a call from the shop. They did undoubtedly get some insurance money but I never had to pay the deductible.

Hi to All,

First of all, happy new year to all members of the 356 Registry !
I am the man in France who was looking for this "lost Porsche 356" as George said in the previous messages of this blog. I purchased this Porsche 356 A 1957 to Frederic Ballot, President of European Vintage Car Company (Cave Creek, AZ) mid-June 2012.

by the way, I would like to thank everybody who tried to help me through this blog.

The story about this Porsche 356 A 1957 is very long and I will not tell it on this blog if Frederic Ballot respects his commitments to give my money back. For your information, Frederic Ballot just wrote me this afternoon that tomorrow he will proceed to refund me by wire transfer as he not in a position to deliver me the car. I will let you know next week if his commitment is respected (I have some doubts !).

Yes, good luck. I hope he is at least honest enough to give the money back after leading you on all these months.

Hi Jim, hi Bob, hi everybody,

It is been a long time since my last message but I did it on purpose. Of course, the dispute between Frederic Ballot, President of European Vintage Car Company, and me is not resolved yet. According to the last commitment from Mr. Ballot last week, he would refund me this week. But, he has promised this so many times.... So, let's give him a last chance.

In case he does not respect his commitment, I will tell you all my story. I may also request the help or advises from you in order to speed up the resolution of this dispute in addition to the actions already launched.

I hope to announce some very good news very soon, I will keep you posted.

Pierre-Emmanuel

Well, you can bet your bippie that that guy won't be selling (or buying) any cars from any of the guys here in the forum. Small consolation I know, but maybe,....just maybe, this guy values his name even a little bit. I know this club isn't the whole 356 world but it could make a difference in his future transactions. (And hopefully make you whole in the end as well)
