FS Complete C/SC toolkit

#1 Post by Bill Romano »

Okay, I'm not a concours guy. Back in the day, no one, who actually worked on
the cars, used the tool kit that came with the 356 (or any other car). You
carried a set of good sockets, combination wrenches, pliers, screw drivers,
feeler gauges, etc. in as compact a box as you could find. And we did use the
OE jack until we discovered the jack stud wasn't that well attached to the
car. It worked great for those of you who never tried one. It jacked the whole
side of the car (both wheels) off the ground very easily. But I sure wish I
had kept my tool kit. I only paid $1000 more than that for my 58 normal.
Forgive me, just sour grapes! Regard and KTF Bill

Right you are! Tool kit prices are nuts, but then again, I don't care about concours. A local famous architect had many one off Ferraris in the 60's and 70's. His son tells me that dad immediately removed the tool kit(don't know why), the wiper arms(didn't like how they looked), and the floor mats(it's my damm carpet and I will get it dirty if I want!). Hence the value of tool kits?
