Flywheel I.D. Help

I suspect the answer to my question is in Pellow's "A,B,C's" but my copy is not immediately available.

Last winter I bought a 356 engine (811067 - a '64 SC) to rebuild as a spare. The engine was last used in a VW bus and had been converted to 12-V. I would like help I.D.'ing the 200 mm flywheel that came with the engine (is it a 912 flywheel?) and I'd also like to know what the ".50" etched on it likely means. Only "P/N" is on the ring gear: 452. Photos after glass bead blasting below:

It probably started out life as a 356 200mm. The replaced ring gear was to accomidate the 130 tooth vw 12v starter if it had been a 912 there would be no need to change out the ring gear. The 453 is the ring gear manufacturers marking. .50 may refer to the amout machined from a surface. you can change the ring gear back to a 109"6V" if you want but check over the flywheel dimensionally first to see if it usable for your intended use.

Fast forward about 7-1/2 years (where does time go?). My question now is related to the fact that I would like to post this flywheel for sale. It sounds like it might only be of interest to a VW owner who is installing a Porsche 356 engine. It would be great to know if that is the likely (rather limited) target market. I suppose Samba would be the place to list it? Any advice?

A few plugs and a mount and you can have a shallow bird bath.

Could you not use it in a 356 with a VW clutch?

It is relatively easy to install the 356 engine in a VW. I would use a 180MM flywheel and the appropriate clutch for the A or Guided main shaft. You can use a 6 volt VW starter if the car is 12 volts a new gear drive starter. Change the coil and install an alternator and you are ready to go. My 56 VW would easily run 80 MPH. One of the most fun cars I ever had was a blue '61 sunroof bug complete with S90 motor, B brakes/wheels. Easy conversion. A really cute sleeper that turned 90mph at the drags, but felt like it was ready to fly when you backed off. Unfortunately I sold it when I got drafted, or I'd probably still be out harassing 356's on Friday nights. We had a lot of fun back in those days, didn't we, Al!

Or, maybe it isn't worth a tinker's damn and Doug's idea to use it as a shallow bird bath is the best way to go?

Sorry we got carried away with past exploits. Samba does seem like a good place to post it, i assume the ring gear was identified here correctly. I think there could be some interested takers. Which clutch to use can be a headache on these swaps, you have a handy solution there.
