Clutch Stalling Issue

#1 Post by Scott Sogge »

Anyone have this happen to them? Went to pick up pizza, ran great, put the pie in the back, started her up, push in the clutch and she stalls. I tried 3 more times with the same results. I finally got her moving by increasing the rpm's. When i got home, i let her idle, pushed in the clutch and no decrease in rpm's at all. What ever was ailing her at the pizza joint was cured at home. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Scott,

As has been said many times, 'when something goes wrong, revisit the last thing you did'. You put a pizza in the back, right? There's your answer.

(sorry for the wise-ass response...I couldn't resist)

You must have put the pizza in the back right over where the fuel line comes from the gas tank to the engine. The pizza was so hot, it vaporized the fuel in the fuel line and caused a temporary vapor lock. When you got home and took the pizza out, the area cooled, the vapor lock went away, and the car started as normal! :D
