Anyone can point out what kind of Gasket is this ,Never seen before.
This is on the C engine Stoddard rebuild in 1967~68 area and engine stored over 50 years
Is this factory? or someone made it?

It looks like a rubber flap but I've never seen one like it and can't think of the reason for the flap. At first I thought it was just a seal to close off the bottom when stored.

Has thin plastic on one face over hard paper .
looks to me home made.

The pictures don't look like it, but was the engine pickled before storage? If so, that may have been a temporary seal that was meant to have been removed before use.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

I wonder if that is cut out of an antifreeze jug and was meant to be a valve or something.
