Detailing the luggage compartment area

#1 Post by Alex Mestas »

Good Morning 356 er's

As I begin to clean up and detail the trunk of my 63 T-6 S Coupe, I was wondering if anyone can tell me:

1) What color was the drain tube (rubber?) running below the cowl vent (on photo mine
is green)

2) On each side of the trunk there is a circular air duct whose housing is black, but it
has a removal screen, Did those screens originally come black or an aluminum color?
I've seen them done in both colors.

3) Did the plastic black vent/drain under the cowl have a sticker/label on it of some sort front and center?

Any help would be appreciated.

On my '63 T-6 #213532, the drain hose is balck; the covers fro the vent openings are cad-plated and there is only on Behr sticker on the passenger side vent. The drain "box" under the cowl didn't have sticker.

I hope this helps.

My screens were an aluminum color. I used a Rustoleum flat aluminum spray to paint them after a thourough cleaning.
