Speedster wiper setup.

#1 Post by john padgham »

Does anyone have pictures of their windshield wiper set up for a Pre-A car, preferably a for a Speedster. A really good description would work as well. [I need to completely rebuild my system, since it's long gone.]

Thanks for any help,

John

Here's the wiper system from the Speedster I'm restoring, 80486. The pics are a bit dark, but you should be able to see what you need. If you need any closer detail pics, let me know. It basically is a complete assembly that bolts into the car.

These pictures a great.

Is 80486 an "A" or a "pre-A"?

Thanks for the assistance,

John

It's a pre-A.

Speedster Wiper set-up

#6 Post by Galen Buisson »

My '55 Speedster - 80997 has virtually the same wiper set-up as the picurres of 80486 although as a very late pre-A it has some A features as well -(cowl vents, 1600 engine, etc). Hope this helps.

Pre-A motor should have the cable and not the wire from the switch to the motor

The system in our Speedster is all electric. No pull cable, just an electric push-pull switch on the dash, and + and - terminals on the motor.
