Carl, that's certainly not "heresy", at least not to me, but I would not call it the "present day setup". The fobs sold recently by Reinhold Plank and Stuart Zeh are accurate reproductions. For my coupe, the original style works well: my original glovebox key tucks into the fob and the ignition key is in the ignition. I can understand why Cabriolet or Roadster owners with more keys might not find that style optimal.
