T6 Euro model restoration question

#1 Post by Joseph Kuntze »

I am finishing up the engine compartment of my European delivery T6. I was checking out two t6 models at a repaiir shop to get the shape of the tarpaper covering the sound deadner right and noticed that both thes cars (a 63 and a 64, both American delivery) had a teel tab welded between the structural supports for the engine compartment hinges. this little tab appears to help hold the insulation and tarpaper in. I can find no evidence my car had tiese tabs. I fabricated a couple but before I weld them in could someone with a European model pop the engeine compartment and see if they are there? Thanks as always in advance Joe
