They even drive convertibles in the rain with the tops down with their raincoats on...........! And then when they run out of gas, the hitchhike!!

Re: 356 Police Car Value?
including an engine re-build by Andy prill & new carpets i have spent around £40k restoring my Austrian 356a back to its original condition.Carl Zapffe wrote:Hi, Martin,Speaking of prices being relative, so is their condition. Were both actual police cars and what was their condition?Prices are relative :
I know the sale of a German SC in 2006 that went for 87.000USD and an Austrian A that went in the UK in 2007 for 58.000 USD.By "disguise," I assume you mean that they have been modified to non-police normal street vehicle use, but I have no idea what it would take ($$$) to return those cars to full police regalia even if the original parts are still available.Carl, there are still a "couple" in private hands - some still in full Police dress, others in disguise.
It still seems to me that these cars are highly collectible and worth much more than the run of the mill 356. Just my 2¢ worth of opinion, not that I have the money to buy one.

Re: 356 Police Car Value?
I came across an old Porsche book which had a few photos of the 356 police cars in their day...

Re: 356 Police Car Value?
There is the one at the Portugal 356 Meeting a few years ago. It lead the entire group on a beautiful drive. The officers told the group, park anywhere you want, drink whatever you want, your under our care. Tiff and I did both. ................Jim.
