License Lamp Rubber Gasket

#1 Post by Steve Nau »

I am trying to locate a source for the rubber gasket between the license plate lamp and the body for my 58 coupe. Pictures are attached. The part number stamp on the gasket is 75625 3.
If you know of a source please let me know.
Thanks

Stoddard sells one for a repro light, don't know how different it is.

644-007-931-00

Rubber base for repro lights only. Fits 356, 356A.

$25.50

Item # 644-007-931-00

Here is a question for you, do you have the hella logo on the topside of your light or was it left blank.
The one that was on my 57.5 had no logo on the top but had the hella lenses, both glass and plastic.

Paul,
I have one of those lights WITHOUT the "Hella" stamping. It is original as I took it off an all original car 25 years ago

Other sources for rubber products are International Mercantile; http://www.im356-911.com/, NLA, and Al Zim's all long time supporters and advertisers to the Registry.

My light cover does have the Hella logo.

Thanks for the ideas. I talked to Stoddard and they do not claim theirs will fit but also won't say for sure that it will not.

Steve,

Roy is correct International Mercantile would be a good option. I looked through their hard copy catalog and there are 2 versions of the rubber base seal.

M33 644.007.931.00 rubber base seal for shine up licence light housing 356A
M33A 356.62.511 rubber base seal for shine down license light housing 356A
They also do the plastic light housing lens top or bottom if yours are damaged.

Never fitted these items as mine are still original but other items I have bought from them fitted perfectly.

The web address should be in the vendors listing on this site. I have an e-mail listing as follows: internationalmercantile@hotmail.com if you can't find it.

I just made a trial fit on an International Mercantile rubber gasket on a restored shine up light and the fit was perfect, I was very pleased and also supprised.

VeloceSpace also carries both shine-up and shine-down license light gaskets; some of our register members have purchased these from us.

Here's a link to our Porsche 356A rubber seals - scroll down and through the seven pages for complete listing and photos for 356A seals/gaskets (other models also available):

Thanks.

Patrick - Where is Velospace located? I looked at the website but the "About Us" screen comes up blank.
Thanks
