My car, '64 C Reutter Coupe, has been repainted and refurbished. The underside of the trunk lid (front) is smooth and shiny. My friend's '64 C Karmann Coupe is all original and the underside of his lid is textured (rust prevention) and painted. I know his is correct, but wonder if this is a Reutter/Karmann thing like the earlier drain hole discussion. I've seen the undersides of the lids both ways in other cars (restored). Was the underside of the lid originally textured from Reutter in C coupes?
In the pic, I know the hinge nuts should be painted.

John,
"...but wonder if this is a Reutter/Karmann thing like the

AFAIK, that is true. My Karmann has the texture; it was 'worked-on', but had the texture prior to that. My Reutter ("Porsche") has never been re-painted in that area and has only a painted surface. Both nominal '65s.
Thanks,
