No Sightings

#1 Post by David Gilliland »

Just got back from my summer vacation. Left Heath, Texas on June 12th. Went to Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Cinncy, Toledo, and Put-In-Bay. Not a single sighting. Then to Detroit, Lansing, Hemlock, Claire, Torch Lake, Traverse City, Charlevoix and back to Gull Lake. Nothing. Then to Indy, Terra Haute, St Louis, Branson, Fayetteville, Choctaw, and back to Heath. Very few Porsches, Boxters and 911's. Not a single 356 anywhere. Parked or on the road. 3400 miles, nada one. Took mine to the Parade on the 4th. Can't say I'm not driving mine.

David,
Sounds like a fun trip. I'm glad to see you drove your 356 to Charlotte all the way from Texas. Did you take any pics of your travels that you can share either in this thread or in the photo album?

Thanks,

Mark

No sightings/what was he expecting

He was probably expecting the same thing I do when I drive mine here in East S.F. Bay area. At least an occasional fellow Porsche driver to wave at. If my coupe is as rare as all that, why is it that the dang stripped Speedsters are worth so darn much more? Mine's even got a real metal top!!!! Actually, I enjoy the looks the car gets. If there were many more, it might not even get a glance. Jim Slawson, 62 S90 coupe

There are 5 of us in the Gull Lake area - 4 drivers, one almost on the
road. You must not have been on the road when we were - sorry.
