Any help appreciated> Secrets to using the timesert without leaving metal particles in the engine?? Any advice on size or type of timesert?

Clamp a piece of wood (like 3/4" or so thick) inside. That'll keep all the chips in one place and make it easy to clean. I use Helicoils, so no info on the timeserts.

Time sert
This is not a problem. You will have the sump plate removed to repair the stud. Should you get shavings inside the engine you can easily wipe them out with a rag. Use a drop of locktight to hold the stud in place. al zim
