Touch up paint

#1 Post by Randy Rutherford »

Does anyone know of a source for touch up paint for 356's? I need to touch up chips on my 6407 Signal Red 1965 356C

Gentlemen,

What I did was take off the elongated panel if front of the door as you open it. It contains the VIN and Paint Code. As this is not exposed to sunlight it will provide the closest match to the body provided it is not oxidized. I took it to my local auto paint store, left the panel and had a computer color match (pint was the minimum I could get). Not cheap (I think I paid about $60.00). Perfect match to my 22 year old champ. yellow S90 though. After touching up a few spots I color sanded, polished and waxed. Perfect....
