Certificate of Authenticity
I have a C of A for my registered 1965 356SC Cabriolet , ID# 159570; engine # 810565 space 616/16; Transmission #72743 space 741/2; Paint Code Light Ivory 6404; Interior: Red Leather; Optional Equiptment: None Recorded. The C of A is dated 6/7/95 and numbered PCNA1802 and signed Howard A Adams. On the right side of the certificate is a 2 1/2" wide maroon stripe with a gold porsche logo at the bottom. I have noticed other C of A's that look much different and include more info than mine. Is my C of A authentic? Is my SC Cab a 1965 as registered or a 1964 as listed in the C of A. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Certificate of Authenticity
Joe, if you enter your chassis number into the form at http://www.356a.com it shows that chassis number 159570 was built in 1963 and is a 1964 model year car.
You say your car is a "registered 1965". If by that you are referring to the year shown on the state vehicle registration, that doesn't necessarily correlate with a Porsche model year. To the state it may be a 65, but to Porsche it's a 64 model year car. I can imagine a number of scenarios where the car was first registered a year or so after it arrived on the dealers lot.
I think the format of the COA document changed a few times over the years. When you are able to post a photo I'm sure many people can compare yours to what they have and let you know if yours is authentic. While it would certainly be possible for someone to produce a "fake" COA, my guess is that it is authentic.
Do your engine and trans numbers match what is shown on the COA?
Best regards,
Barry

Here's my 1997 CofA, looks like it is signed by Howard Adams. I just have the pic right now, original is filed away, and not sure but it looks like the right side is a separate piece of paper.

Certificate Of Authenticity
Thanks to All for your help, and Bob Forman my C of O looks Exactly like the one you attached via photo. It has the scroll around the words Certificate of Authenticity and red arrows next to the specifications and optional equiptment.

COAs
Joe,
Howard Adams worked for Porsche North America in the mid 90s when I obtained my COA. My 64C cab #159176 was made in August 63 and by your VIN number I would guess yours is also made in late 63 and is actually a 64 model year car, regardless of how it was registered. If it were indeed a 65 SC then it would probably have electric tach and the crested hub caps.
