Advice on Exhaust

#1 Post by Sean Longhi »

I have an ANSA exhaust. Sounds great, but its a bit loud. Sounds like a chopper.
Don't get me wrong, people notice and turn their heads, but I would like a throatier, muffled sound. Any suggestions?

I have one just like it & I love it. It opens up nicely at 4000 rpm.

As always, to each his own. But for my dough (and not so much of it), you can't beat a Bursch header hooked to a Corvair Turbo muffler. Great flow, low backpressure, civilized note, and cheap. Not terribly pretty, but it works like a Big Dog and is what we in the Heartland call Big Bang for the Buck.[/i]

And I've just put a Jim Constas exhaust (Sebring style) on my Speedster. VERY loud, and I also love it, just as I loved the Bursch exhaust (not the quiet version) before. For a bit less noise (music?), you might try the quiet version of the Bursch. Some even think the factory original is perfect.
