There must be something strange about the job if Intercity won't do it. They are very professional.

Follow up on my shipping issue.
Thomas Sunday, after a frank discussion with their front office about leaving me high-and-dry, came through for me the car was picked up in MN and delivered this past Wednesday. However, TS will not be my first choice should I need cross country transport; I’ll give Joe J a call first.
Thanks for everyone's input and advice.

Thanks for shipper info. Car got to destination safely and at a reasonable fee. Shipper Joe Jakabus is first class.

If shipping in a big-rig make sure it's "hard-sided enclosed", not "soft-sided" enclosed. I sold my beautiful 2005 996 GT3 to an enthusiast who opted for brokered transport. It made it only 75 miles before being rear ended and unfortunately for him it was the last one in and the one hung out over the rear within the fiberglass clamshell. It was totaled and he was fully insured so he got a quick check but I'm still sick over his loss of a near-perfect car. BTW, I think a carrier's insurance limits are for the total loss in a single accident so the value of the other cars in your shipment determines how much you get (e.g. a $500k limit doesn't cover you for $500k but is split between all the damaged cars). Others with expertise on this might want to chime in.
Transport - like brakes - is not a good place to save money.

Agreed. I received a car I purchased from the Salinas area maybe a week or two ago. Intercity was great. You're on their schedule for pickup to some extent (within 14 days they say) depending on where their trucks are. But they call to tell you in advance when they're picking up and delivering. The driver got from CA to Richmond, VA in maybe a week, making stops along the way to drop off/pick up.

The car delivered was nothing particularly special. An '82 Pontiac Trans Am.
