There is an opening in the engine tin just below the latch. I believe you can insert a long flat head screwdriver and pop the latch.
I remember looking at it when my FRONT hood cable broke - I now have a second safety wire release run through the left front wheel well hole.

Scott,
On the rear horizontal plate under the latch you will find a small
hole that still might have its rubber plug in it. If you remove the plug
from under the car you can pass a long screwdriver/rod up to the latch
and push the release lever on it and open the hood. this is the same
lever that the wire pulls. The hole is directly under the latch and
slightly off center toward the driver's side. The hole is about 15 mm is
size. If for some reason you don't have a hole there you can create one.
