I'm having problems downloading on postimage, so here are shots of the "Monza" style muffler I put on my '57 A T-1 coupe

Has anyone tried to fit the 'late style' larger tip 4 tip under an A car? Does this even fit or are the tips too high?

Abarth mufflers

#62 Post by Dick Weiss »

We old timers remembered when they were introduced, we called 'em "shin busters"!
Long pants (never in shorts) were getting cut if not carefull when working on the rear end of the car and having 'chaps' on your legs would be safe; today, you could use soccer leg shields, but soccer wasn't popular back in those days--yet.

Can someone point out the differences between this Abarth and the currently being offered Stebro (apart from the latter being made of stainless that is...) And which one produces better sound/more power if at all. Thanks

Most would think Tiger got off easy compared to the condition I'd be in resulting from my wife catching me with an engine in the living room.

In a previous house, with a previous wife -- I had cut through the garage into the basement for additional car storage. Patty didn't really object to that. I told her that I wanted to install a lift but there was insufficient celing height. My was solution cutting through the ceiling and a high platform bed. Fortuantely Patty with her lack of appreciation Porsche -- lack of vision -- lack of sense of humor is long gone. Most expensive thing I ever bought (multiple 904 units), best value I have ever received (now I have Silk, aka the fabulous Freda -- who will achieve perfection when she finally admits to being a fabulously wealthy heiress).

Well Guys, Its was cold outside and nice and warm in the living room...so it seemed logical. :D
I actually assembled the whole motor in that room and it sat there until my wife had a Bunco party -what every that means- She told me I had to get it out so now it sits in the shop. Now getting it out was another story because i never considered the fact that it was bigger then the door openings

Stebro

The Stebro is very similar design to the Abarth, above is a picture of my exhaust hanging on the wall awaiting installation. Dan over at Stebro is a very nice fellow and did a full Polish on my stainless quad tip exhaust. Bill says that the exhaust is so gorgeous it is more like a piece of art than something to hang off the back of a car. As for the sound, won't be able to report until later this summer. It is lighter weight also than stock or Abarth exhaust systems from what I understand. And we all know how Ferry Porsche felt about weight. I have been able to establish a deal for anyone that wants a Stebro for their 356 as mine. They usually polish only the tips, but did a full polish for me as a favor, a link to the deal is below if anyone is interested, available in straight or slant tips, I went with slant tips myself,

http://www.balkowitsch.com/ProductID-24 ... tails.aspx

Dan will do a High Polish on the exhaust for anyone that I know, retails for $1800.

Thanks,
Shane

Finally installed the P912 on my 2.0SC. Sounds great!

Looking for information for a source for high temperature (1000 degrees minimum) "crinkle finish" to complete the restoration of my abarth exhaust, any information is greatly appreciated.

Also looking for the decals for the exhaust.

Thanks
