Ken I've been going through this right now in Missouri . I just had to
pay three years of back Personal property taxes for my 52 & Speedster.
Also my sons 55 Chevy. Because they were in such pieces I didn't
consider them cars. My speedster has a salvage title as it came from a
Sheriffs auction stripped in 1963.
When you get this project title do you list it on your property tax
declaration.

Here in Ky you must have a 'roadworthy' car to pass out of state
inspection
I have just learned that the Ky Legislature has approved a
'project title' for cars over 25 years old.
You find a project car and go to the Sheriffs dept with the car
and paperwork, Bill of sale etc, and they will look at the vin and
confirm the paper work is clean. Then they will issue a Project title
which now has the car in your name,

A "personal property tax"??? On some old project cars???? Sounds like
someone's state legislature has been allowed to get out of control.
PLEASE, PLEASE don't tell any Pennsylvania legislators about any
stinkin' personal property tax. I like to think they're not really THAT
goofy, but I'd hate to find out the expensive way.
