383 plug wires

#1 Post by Cal Ensor »

Are the plug wires for the 383 distributor on a 3 piece case the same length for the later distributor ?
Any tips for piercing the wire insulation and installing in the distributor cap ?
Thanks
Cal

383 plug wires

#2 Post by Ken Daugherty »

Cal,
The wires may be the same length, cant say, but I make up my
own wire sets from a spool of Packard wire.
On the 383 caps, I use an ice pick to make a hole in the end of
the wire and then push it on the pins with a wood stick to assure they
are fully seated. If you don't do that it is possible to break the very
pricey cap.
