356 sighting... in Baltimore???

#1 Post by Bill Leavitt »

I'm sure all the Californians will snicker, but seeing a 356 just out on the road always does my heart good. Unless I'm going to/from a (Porsche) 356 event, I only see the stray 356 on the road maybe every 3-5 years. :(

It was a nice looking 356C in Champagne Yellow with PA antique plates just coming off the Harbor Tunnel Thruway for I-95 north on Sunday night. I was in the red Karmann Ghia cabrio that played leap-frog until traffic thinned out above White Marsh, and we saw who had the real 1600cc flat-4 under the rear deck. Hopefully the couple in the car know about this list. Thanks for the reminder that 356 folks around here do still get out and just drive. :D

Bill,

I am not a professional at snickering, but I have to admit that seenig a 356 only everty 3-5 years (non-event) is amazing. One would think that with all our money rolling around in D.C., a few of those fat-cats would appreciate the good ol' 356 a little bit more?

Just a thought from one of us "philistines" here in California.

Hasta la vista,

JP

Bill

I know of about 11 356s within a 10 mile radius of my house here in Midlothian. One guy has 5 in his basement and back yard--including a restored Speedster.

Bill,
Is he planning on driving them, selling them, or letting the cars rot in his basement?
